E.M.T. HORSES

Here are a few of the horses we are currently working with.

"Bombie" ("Light the Fuse" - Electric - Celtic Cone)

Horse competing in dressage

Bombie is an ex-national hunt racehorse.  His racing career spanned 8 years before suffering one injury too many which ended his racing days.

Despite bone chips being removed from both knees, a severed tendon and a broken bone at the back of his knee, Bombie kept bouncing back, but a back injury proved just too much for him.

"Oscar" ("Whinny Tou" - Whinny Jackson - Wolfgang)

You wouldn't meet a kinder natured horse than Oscar. As a younger horse he lost his way and unfortunately he was a little misunderstood; sadly he found his way into the grass field.

Two years down the line our paths crossed and Oscar found his way to us.  He is now under a new owner and his dressage training has resumed.

Oscar is now attending training clinics and had his first affiliated outing for 3 years in February.

"Peanut" ("West Life" - Florencio I - Florestan I)

This fabulous gelding is currently being backed and then will follow a career in dressage.   With his illustrious breeding we are very excited about his future.

Typical of his breed line, Peanut is quite a sharp boy so we are having to take things slowly as he frightens himself.

Peanut is developing into a superb specimen but he is still very immature so we must all be very patient.

"Thomas" ("Crown Affaere" - Its Without Doubt - Welton Louis)

With his Ben Faerie and Welton breed lines Thomas looks every inch the event horse. He has plenty of substance but is nicely short coupled making him perfect for the job.

"Rupert" ("Really Rupert" - Rubin Star - Rubenstein)

What a striking looking gelding; there's no doubting his parentage!

A little on the sharp side, Rupert has an active mind and he is now ready to start ground training in preparation for backing later on.

"Cappi" ("Capulet" - Templetrine)

This gelding has proven to be quite challenging. He is generally very switched-on and the description of "sharp" is extremely accurate for him! This coupled with a nervousness has meant progress has been by the millimetre rather than the centimetre.

We are confident that this horse has a future in the competition arena.

He moves beautifully so there are several options as to which road to go down with him.

"Rea" ("Seeing Reality" - Bin Ajaad - Rainbow Quest)

This mare is an ex-racehorse - and presents everything that is typical of these horses. She is a compact little and although has a good frame, lacks muscle.

Rea is convinced that she can only go around on the lunge or under saddle with her head way up in the clouds; she is very busy in the mouth but yet does not mouth and she is very stiff throughout her whole body. Despite the best efforts of her owner, Rea has been reluctant to listen, preferring to go in the way she thinks is correct.

"Illy"

Illy, although not large in terms of hands high, is extremely powerful and this, coupled with him being extremely nervous, has made his quite a "powder keg".

His owner asked us to work with Illy to help overcome his fear of not only jumping but even negotiating a pole on the ground. There is quite a bit of history to Illy's case but his situation is not helped by the fact his owner has completely lost her confidence with him.

"Inde" ("Walinde" - Jaroeska -Palfrenier)

"Gracie" ("Distant Friend" - Vettori - Machiavellian)

Gracie is a 2 y.o. filly. She is a solid, well-built girlie and upon seeing her you would be forgiven for mistaking her for a colt - especially as she has the attitude and behaviour of a colt to go along with her build.

Due to her size and manner Gracie is her for ground training so that she is more manageable for her owner.
